About the Group

We are a group of tea enthusiasts who wish to promote the way of tea here in the inter-mountain west. We practice the Urasenke style of tea and have associations with the Urasenke School. If you are in the Salt Lake City area and wish to participate, and study with us you are more then welcome.

Mission Statement
We are a group that wishes to practice and promote the way of tea in the Wasatch Front area. The group has been loosely organized and is informal in its content. We do our best to practice "temae" (procedures for making a bowl of tea specific to the occasion or utensil) with emphasis on helping the student become proficient in hosting a "chaji" (a full formal tea gathering). We also do demonstrations, and gatherings in the beautiful canyons and alpine wilderness of Utah. 'Nodate' is a favorite style since we do not have a tea house or complex as of yet. We are open to all walks of life, most age groups, and abilities. We hope that you will be able to join us in helping to spread the grand tea masters' wish: peace through a bowl of tea.
